Emma
Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson is the daughter of British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby (born in Paris) and Chris Watson (born in Paris). Her family made the move to Oxfordshire in the year she turned five where she attended at the Dragon School. Since the age of 6 Emma was aware that she wanted to become an actor and for some time she attended the Oxford Branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts a part-time theatre school in which she was taught the art of acting and dancing. As a ten year old Emma was already taking part in multiple Stagecoach productions, as well as school productions. When 1999 began, casting was announced in the production of Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2001) the film adaptation of British writer J.K. Rowling's bestselling novel. Emma was discovered by agent via her Oxford teacher. After eight continuous auditions, director David Heyman told Emma and the other candidates Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint they were cast to play the three leads Hermione Granger Harry Potter and Ron Weasley. Emma's first film on the screen in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone which was released in 2001. The film set records in terms of its opening and weekend ticket sales, and it was one of the top 2001 films. The film was well-received by experts, as was the performance of three young actors. The Daily Telegraph, an important British newspaper, praised Emma's portrayal "amazing". Then Emma was nominated for five awards based on her performance in the film, winning an award called the Young Artist Award for Leading Young Actress in a Feature Film.
